HOW YOU CAN HELP:  DONATE TO WASART

WASART is currently 100% supported by membership fees, donations, and grants.  All of the money we raise is used to purchase emergency equipment and clothing, pay for any emergency veterinary care needed by animals in temporary shelters if the owners are unable to do so or if the owners are unknown, purchase food, veterinary supplies, supplements, etc., if donations of such items are not sufficient for the animals housed in the shelters, and training of WASART members.  WASART is run by volunteers who receive no monetary compensation for their time or talents.

WASART became a registered non-profit organization in the State of Washington on May 14, 2007 and 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status was awarded on December 11, 2007 retroactive to May 14, 2007.  Monetary donations made to WASART are tax deductible.  All donations are recorded and tracked and WASART will supply the necessary documentation to donors for their tax deductions at the end of each tax year.

WASART is grateful for any sort of donations, whether monetary or materials.  Please see our Wish List for the types of materials we would like to receive.

PayPal: You can now give securely on-line through the account we have established with PayPal for the convenience of our donors.  It helps WASART put your money to work immediately!  Just press the icon below.

United Way: WASART is listed as a United Way Agency.   United Way embraces philanthropy in all its forms and supports the efforts of other non-profit organizations by generously agreeing to forward any donations made to United Way but designated specifically for another non-profit. 

You can donate to WASART through United Way by making your check payable to United Way of King County and designating in the “Memo” line of the check that it is for “WASART”.  The mailing address is:  Attn:  Pledge Processing, United Way of King County, 720 second Avenue, Seattle, WA  98104.  Alternatively, you can visit their website and donate on-line.  United Way’s website is:  www.uwkc.org/giving/default.asp. 

Combined Fund Drive: Combined Fund Drive’s mission is to empower Washington public employees and retirees to strengthen communities through the funding and support of charities.  WASART is now a member of the charity community for which the Combined Fund Drive which has set the standard of giving among similar workplace giving programs for over 23 years.  Each year, active and retired public employees participate in the annual Combined Fund Drive to raise money for local, national and international communities.   Please visit their website on www.cfd.wa.gov to view the charitable work done by Combined Fund Drive donors, locally and internationally, and for instructions on how to direct your generous donation to WASART.

Company Matching Funds: You can double, or even triple, your contribution to WASART by taking advantage of your company’s matching gift program.  Many companies generously match employee contributions to non-profit organizations like WASART.  Some companies even match employee volunteer hours with monetary gifts. 

Your contribution may qualify for a matching gift if you are a current or retired employee, a corporate director, or an employee of a subsidiary.  To find out if your employer has a matching gift program, contact your Benefits or Human Resources Office.
