WASART is currently 100% supported by membership and training fees, donations, and grants.  All of the money raised is used to purchase emergency supplies and equipment, pay for any emergency veterinary care needed by animals in temporary shelters if the owners are unable to do so or if the owners are unknown, purchase food, veterinary supplies, supplements, etc., if donations of such items are not sufficient for the animals housed in the shelters, and training of WASART members.  WASART is administered by volunteers who receive no monetary compensation for their time or talents.

WASART became a registered non-profit organization in the State of Washington on May 14, 2007 and 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status was awarded on December 11, 2007 retroactive to May 14, 2007.  Monetary donations made to WASART are tax deductible.  All donations are recorded and tracked and WASART will supply the necessary documentation to donors for their tax deductions at the end of each tax year.
