with more information. |
| |
| |
| 4. Training: |
|
There are classes
taught by WASART or outside instructors that
must be completed before a member is eligible
for deployment in an emergency or disaster.
These classes are taught on a revolving schedule
throughout the year. Other required classes can
be completed on-line or are taught by other
agencies or organizations. |
| |
|
Those volunteers who successfully complete any
or all of the levels of training required for
membership in WASART will be registered with the
State Emergency Management Division and
credentialed as Emergency Workers as codified in
RCW 38.52.010. They will receive an Emergency
Worker identification badge issued by the King
County Office of Emergency Management, as well
as an identification badge issued by WASART.
Both of these identification badges must be on
the volunteer and in plain view whenever WASART
is activated in an emergency or disaster or
attending a WASART training. |
|
|
|
If a WASART member’s private vehicle and/or
horse trailer is utilized by a WASART member
when on documented WASART business, proof of
current insurance on both driver(s) and vehicles
must be on file with the WASART Membership
Manager. Such insurance is primary coverage if
an accident occurs or if damage is sustained to
the vehicle or horse trailer. The State of
Washington’s liability insurance policy is
secondary coverage, not only for damage to
WASART member’s vehicles, horse-trailers and
equipment but also for injuries to a person
during activation. |
